Nicolas Jackson’s future at FC Bayern was thought to have already been decided. Several reports recently suggested that the striker would be leaving the record champions at the end of the season. However, new information has now cast doubt on this view

The Senegalese attacker was signed at the last minute last summer as a backup for Harry Kane. The loan cost Munich around 14 million euros – plus a salary of over ten million euros. In view of these sums, his sporting record so far has been rather modest

In 22 competitive matches, Jackson has scored just six points, which many observers believe is not enough for a player who was planned as an additional attacking option

Romano: Bayern will not exercise purchase option

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano recently made it clear that Jackson will not stay at FC Bayern beyond the current season, stating that it is „100 per cent“ impossible that the Munich club will exercise the purchase option

According to reports, this option is worth around 65 million euros – a sum that the German record champions are apparently unwilling to invest in view of Jackson’s performances to date

Jackson’s chapter at FC Bayern thus appeared to be practically over

But now African transfer expert Rahman Osman is contradicting this narrative. According to his information, Bayern have not yet made a final decision on the attacker’s future

Coach Vincent Kompany is said to have recently held talks with Jackson, during which the Belgian emphasized that the 24-year-old is still an important part of the team and that nothing will be decided until the end of the season

According to Osman, those close to the player also deny that FC Bayern have already made a final decision internally and that no such information has been passed on to the player’s side

Jackson still believes in his chance

Despite his role as a backup striker, Jackson himself is said to still believe that he can make his mark at FC Bayern. The Senegalese international is currently deliberately ignoring rumors of interest from other clubs

However, it remains to be seen whether there will actually be a surprising turnaround. From an economic point of view, it still seems very unlikely that he will stay permanently – especially in view of the high purchase option and his sporting achievements to date.
