Leeds United expect several permanent exits this summer, with Isaac Schmidt expected to leave permanently.

He joined from St Gallen in 2024, made 14 appearances, 12 in the Championship, then left on a season loan. He did not start a league game under Daniel Farke.

At Werder he started six games and came on 13 times, scoring on debut. Werder passed on a permanent. Basel and Young Boys are interested.

Max Wober’s Werder loan was ruined by injury, limiting him to two Bundesliga outings. He is expected to move on, with his situation complicated after Werder declined to buy.

“So far, relatively little [discussions on the future]. I'm pretty sure I won't be the most sought-after player at Leeds United anymore. That much is clear to me. We'll see how things develop.”

He was speaking to DAB Der Audiobeweis.

“I'm assuming I'll return for pre-season training as normal,” he added. “And I think after an injury like that, you simply need training sessions with the team, friendlies where you get that feeling in your body again that you're fit, that everything's working, and that everything's holding up. So it's really important for me to participate in preseason training again. And then we'll see what happens next, what Leeds’ plan is, what's happening in the transfer market. Things can change drastically in football. So I'll just take it as it comes.”

Harry Gray’s switch to Sheffield Wednesday is all but done, while Leeds prioritise Southampton midfielder Shea Charles after two rejected bids.
