Jack Harrison has acknowledged that leaving Leeds United on loan twice after relegation in 2023 was difficult for supporters to accept, as he bade farewell following a permanent move to MLS side New England Revolution that ends his eight-year spell.

The player said in a post that Leeds became his home, that some of his best memories came in white, and that the last couple of years were not straightforward. He added that going out on loan was not an easy decision, his respect for the club never changed, and he took pride in seeing Leeds back in the Premier League.

Much of the past three seasons were spent away, with two separate stints at Everton and a six-month spell at Fiorentina in January. Both Everton moves followed his activation of a relegation-linked release clause after the 2022/23 drop, a step taken by several teammates.

Harrison was a key part of the 2019/20 Championship title-winning side, then helped Leeds finish ninth under Marcelo Bielsa the following season. His loan departures strained relations with some supporters, which he sought to address in his message.

Former teammates including Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford and Tyler Roberts sent supportive replies. Harrison is the last member of the 2019/20 title-winning group to depart, following summer exits for Illan Meslier and Pascal Struijk. Only two Bielsa-era players remain, Daniel James and Joe Gelhardt.
