JASHARI: "GOOD FEELINGS; WE NEED TO RETURN TO THE TOP" | OneFootball

It's a big day for Ardon Jashari. The Swiss midfielder, who recently joined the Club and then made his debut in Dublin, held a press conference at Casa Milan. Here's what he said:

MILAN, WOW "A great feeling. Coming to AC Milan is a dream come true for me and my family. I've not been here long, but everyone has given me a really warm welcome. It's an honour to wear this shirt. Milan's history speaks for itself; so many great players have come through here. Pirlo was my idol as a kid. When I was younger, I loved to watch AC Milan and Barcelona. I've been to San Siro before, and I can't wait to play here."

NEGOTIATIONS "It took a while. As soon as Tare and I got in touch, my intentions were clear, and he gave me constant support. I knew it would be a tough negotiation; I was an important player for Club Brugge. We had to be patient. I gave my word to the Club. I also want to thank Ibrahimović. My last season in Belgium was a good one; I just focused on finishing on a high note, then my agent began to tell me about the chance to come to AC Milan. Comparisons with De Ketelaere? No, the only thing we have in common is that we both played for Brugge. Pressure is normal at AC Milan, and it doesn't scare me. I'll work as hard as I can, and I'll give my all to repay the Club's faith in me and make the fans happy."

FIRST IMPRESSIONS, HIS ROLE AND AIMS "My first impressions of the staff and my teammates have been positive. Straight away, Allegri seemed to be the kind of coach who is close with his players. I want to thank him for his kind words after the game in Dublin. You can feel the harmony in the dressing room. On the pitch, we want to win because it's what AC Milan deserve. I want to contribute and bring my energy to the team. Often, the team that wants it more is the one that wins. I felt free to play in Dublin; I hadn't played in a while, but I wanted to make a good impression. I still have a lot of room for improvement. My role? Allegri will decide that. I've played both as a 6 and a 10, because I can play in defence or attack. The most important thing is not to concede, but obviously, I do like to score and assist."

SERIE A "It's very different to the Belgian league, which is getting better, though. It's more physical in Italy. I'm really happy to be playing in Serie A for AC Milan."

MODRIĆ "It'll be a privilege to play alongside a top player like Luka. I'll enjoy it, and it will definitely help my development."

DERBY "Inter were interested in me? I only wanted AC Milan. I know how important the derby is for the fans, but the most important thing is to take AC Milan back to the top."
