As the new season approaches, AC Milan are leaving no stone unturned in refining their squad.
AC Milan's transfer activity remains aggressive as they zero in on bringing striker Rasmus Højlund from Manchester United. The club is negotiating an initial loan with an option to buy, an approach aligning with Højlund's growing interest in returning to Serie A. Milan are looking to conclude this acquisition swiftly as they face a testing fixture schedule ahead.
Meanwhile, the Rossoneri have confirmed the departure of Malick Thiaw to Newcastle for a sum believed to involve significant bonuses. The young German's exit has paved the way for the arrival of Belgian defender Koni De Winter from Genoa, highlighting a reshuffle in their defence.
In addition, Warren Bondo is out on loan to Cremonese, opening up space in the midfield for recent signings like Luka Modric, who is poised to inject fresh creativity and experience.
The return of Christian Pulisic from his ankle troubles is a timely boost as Milan gear up for their Coppa Italia opener against Bari. His potential deployment by head coach Massimiliano Allegri remains a keen talking point, especially amidst Milan's switch to a potential 3-5-2 formation.
Allegri's squad management will be crucial as he juggles newly acquired players with existing talent to address recent defensive vulnerabilities seen in pre-season matches, including a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea.
Milan's tactical flexibility has come under the spotlight as Allegri experiments with formations to maximise player strengths. The introduction of Koni De Winter alongside fresh arrivals such as Pervis Estupiñan, expected to link well with Leão on the left, marks a shift towards enhancing tactical width and defensive robustness.
The attacking department also continues to be a focus, particularly with talks involving Dusan Vlahovic on standby if negotiations for Højlund falter. Allegri's adept rotation strategies and adaptation to a mix of seasoned and youthful talents will likely determine Milan's fortune this season.
