Andrée Jeglertz says Kerolin will miss 'a number of weeks' through injury but that Iman Beney is available to face Arsenal on Saturday.
The Brazilian hasn't featured since a standout display against Tottenham Hotspur, where she grabbed an assist in a 5-1 win.
Jeglertz wouldn't go into detail on the nature of the issue, but did confirm she'll likely be unavailable until after the October international break.
"She is unfortunately not available for a number of weeks. She has lower body injury. She will be out for a while," our Head Coach confirmed.
Asked when she picked up the injury, Jeglertz added: "Last week I think. We're doing tests and unfortunately she is out for a number of weeks."
However, the boss had positive news to share on Beney, who missed our victory over London City Lionesses last time out.
The Swiss international has been back in training this week, though, and Jeglertz confirmed she's available for selection.
He added: "Iman is back in training and hopefully ready for the weekend. Yes, definitely [she could be involved this weekend]."
City come into the tie two places and one point ahead of Arsenal, but the Gunners are yet to taste defeat in the WSL this season.
Both sides are expected to challenge for top honours this season and, in front of a bumper crowd at the Joie Stadium, it promises to be a thrilling and potentially significant tie for both sides.
However, Jeglertz was quick to emphasise that every team in the WSL is capable of competing, not just the 'big four' of City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Indeed, our Head Coach pointed out that victory over the Gunners is irrelevant if City then drop points against other sides.
"It's also difficult to evaluate the other teams. They are very good, a lot of national team players beginning the season, building relationships, partnerships.
"Up and down [the league] it is so difficult to say where it will end. I wouldn’t say it would only be four in the race, we've played interesting teams also and a lot points against Aston Villa and we played Brighton, good teams and Spurs are growing.
"Four teams are great, [but] if we don't do everything we're supposed to in the other games, if we think it is a battle between four, we will lose points and struggle in other games.
"Most likely it will be four teams battling, but it's not also about these games but what we're doing in all the others that will make us in the top three."
