Jhon Lucumi keeps options open as Sunderland interest persists | OneFootball

Jhon Lucumi says he will decide his next move after the season, with Sunderland still tracking the Bologna centre-back.

The Colombia defender has been linked with Wearside for over a year. Sunderland pushed to sign him last summer, then moved on in January, and he is expected to be available for around £22 million.

Lucumi has not agreed fresh terms, with his contract running to 2027. His representatives want to explore options elsewhere and Bologna are open to a sale to protect his value.

“Right now, my focus is solely on finishing the season on a high note and helping the team. Then I’ll sit down with my family, with my wife, and we’ll see with my team what’s best for my career.”

He was speaking to Corriere dello Sport.

“Everything here is fantastic. We’re happy here.”

“I’ll decide only after evaluating everything.”
