Leeds United loanee Joe Gelhardt faces around six weeks out with a calf injury at Hull City, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is pushing for a return as Leeds prepare for a restrained January window.
According to Leeds Live, PSR constraints after a summer that maxed out their limits mean January is likely to be quiet, with opportunistic moves preferred and any major spend or influx dependent on sales.
The 23-year-old recently hit his 10th goal of the season for Hull and will miss the entire Christmas schedule. He is not expected back until the New Year.
The veteran midfielder, 32, has said he is not ready to retire and still has the hunger to prove his value in English football. He is training with former club Arsenal after leaving Besiktas and hopes to secure a move in the coming weeks.
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, with a European Conference League tie then Leeds 48 hours later, vowed to pick two entirely different starting elevens to protect player welfare. Leeds are likely to prioritise midfield, striker and winger options in January, with the order shaped by whether Daniel Farke persists with the successful 3-5-2.
