Canada start Jonathan David and Derek Cornelius against Bosnia and Herzegovina in their Group B opener, with Alphonso Davies among the substitutes. Kick-off is at 21:00.
L'Équipe reports that Jesse Marsch has picked a four-four-two and starts Cornelius of Marseille, Ismaël Koné of Sassuolo, formerly of OM and Rennes, and David of Juventus, formerly of Lille. Davies is on the bench because of a hamstring injury.
Canada line-up: Crépeau in goal, a back four of Johnston, De Fougerolles, Cornelius and Laryea, Buchanan, Koné, captain Eustaquio and Millar in midfield, with David alongside Oluwaseyi up front.
Bosnia and Herzegovina also go four-four-two, starting full-backs Sead Kolasinac of Atalanta and Amar Dedic of Benfica, both formerly of Marseille. Coach Sergej Barbarez selects Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic.
Their XI is Vasilj in goal, Dedic, Katic, Muhamerovic and captain Kolasinac at the back, Bajraktarevic, Basic, Tahirovic and Memic across midfield, with Demirovic and Lukic up front. Edin Dzeko begins his second World Cup as a substitute.
