Jose Mourinho asks Real Madrid for two more signings | OneFootball

Real Madrid have had a busy start to the summer, but head coach Jose Mourinho is not prepared to rest on his laurels when it comes to demanding more signings – despite four players already being in the door at the Bernabeu.

Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva have also agreed to sign for Real Madrid, and they will all arrive later in the summer once their involvement at the 2026 World Cup comes to an end. But by the time they do head to the Santiago Bernabeu, Mourinho is hoping they are joined by another one or two.

Specifically, Mourinho has asked Real Madrid for two more signings, as reported by Marca. He wants another centre-back brought in alongside Konate, while he also wants a Luke Modric-esque midfielder too.

Mourinho already has clear targets in mind

Mourinho was very influential in bringing Konate, Dumfries, Cucurella and Silva to Real Madrid, and he will hope to play a similar role in the club’s next pieces of business. He has already passed across his preferred candidates for the two aforementioned signings he wants – in defence, he has asked for Alessandro Bastoni or Nico Schlotterbeck, while he sees Enzo Fernandez or Mateus Fernandes as the ideal addition in midfield.

At this stage, it is unclear whether who is preferred out of Bastoni or Schlotterbeck – the latter has been regularly discussed in the media of late, but given that he was recently ruled out for 6-8 weeks with an injury, his chances of a Bernabeu move could be dashed. As for midfield, Fernandez appears to be the favoured candidate, although a move for the Chelsea man does not appear to be imminent.

It will be interesting to see how Real Madrid do sign between now and the end of the summer, but Mourinho is determined to secure more new faces.
