José Mourinho handed boost as Bruma steps up recovery at Benfica

José Mourinho has started preparations for the next game and received a boost as Bruma returned to pitch work at Seixal after being out since pre-season.

According to Record, the winger, Benfica’s number 27, has been alternating grass sessions with gym work, always overseen by a member of the club’s performance staff.

His progress gives Mourinho the prospect of another option nearing a return to competition, particularly in the wide positions.

Bruma faces a recovery period similar to Manu Silva and Alexander Bah. The Danish full-back is not yet fully fit to play, and the defensive midfielder has yet to reach optimal condition, though he has met Mourinho’s expectations.

After their Taça da Liga exit following defeat to Braga, Benfica now turn to a Taça de Portugal quarter-final against Porto.
