Former Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has found a new club as the 37-year-old extends his football career.
The World Cup winner was announced as a new signing for for A-League team Melbourne Victory. This will be his second consecutive season on Australian soil, after having played for Western Sydney Wanderers last season – scoring one goal and providing three assists in 23 matches.
With 14 titles to his name, Juan Mata decided to leave European football in 2023, when he moved to Japan to play for Vissel Kobe. Before that, he had a brief stint at Galatasaray, appearing in 18 matches.
The Spaniard spent a large part of his career at Manchester United where he made 285 appearances, scoring 51 goals and providing 40 assists.
In addition, Mata also played for Chelsea and Valencia, after having spent his formative years between two Reals - that of Oviedo and that of Madrid.
Now, at 37, the midfielder continues to showcase his football skills in Australia and is preparing to compete in his 18th professional season.
