Juventus ‘to offer’ prospect in bid for Jhon Lucumi, with Sunderland and Nottingham Forest linked | OneFootball

Sunderland are closing in on their first summer signing as Thomas Meunier undergoes a medical on Wearside, while attention turns to Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi amid Serie A interest.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Juventus remain keen on Lucumi and could look to include a promising youngster in part-exchange to persuade Bologna to accept a lower fee.

Sunderland were linked with the Colombia international a year ago, although they ultimately landed Getafe’s Omar Alderete. Recent talk has kept Lucumi on their radar, and any renewed move would come as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

The former Genk centre-back made 43 appearances for Bologna last season. He then featured in all five of Colombia’s World Cup matches, reaching the round of 16 before a penalty shoot-out loss to Granit Xhaka’s Switzerland.

Lucumi is set to return to Bologna for pre-season. Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth have also been credited with interest in the 28-year-old.
