Heavily rotated Paris FC beat Metz 3-1, with Ilan Kebbal influential and late on the scoresheet, and the hosts often looked too passive, notably Urie-Michel Mboula. L'Équipe highlighted Kebbal’s creativity in a side that managed the key moments.
Alimami Gory, starting for the first time since the 1-1 draw at Toulouse on 21 February, stretched Metz early and was denied a penalty when Sy rushed out on six minutes. Booked on 13, Mboula then failed to react as Gory finished with his left on 21 after Traoré’s cross deflected off Immobile. Gory later made way for Marchetti on 66.
Giorgi Kvilitaia, on for Habib Diallo, levelled on 31 by capitalising on a misunderstanding in the Paris FC central defence. He almost had a second with a 40th-minute header, Nkambadio saving, before fading after the interval.
Kebbal completed the job on 89, a left-foot feint followed by a right-foot strike tucked inside the near post.
Midfield youngster Rudy Matondo impressed with his intensity, with Lees-Melou suspended, Maxime Lopez ill and Munetsi on the bench. Among Metz’s strugglers, Mboula was replaced by Sarr on 57 after a difficult night, while Gauthier Hein lost too many balls and Koffi Kouao toiled against Koleosho. For Paris FC, Thibault De Smet struggled against Mbala, misheaded into danger on 58 and was withdrawn for Noah Sangui on 88.
