Paris Saint-Germain heads to Anfield with momentum after a commanding 4-1 victory over Stade Rennais on Saturday at Roazhon Park. The match remained scoreless until the 27th minute when Bradley Barcola opened the scoring, putting PSG ahead 1-0.

Early in the second half, Gonçalo Ramos doubled PSG’s lead in the 50th minute, but Rennes responded almost immediately. A deflected corner fell near the post, allowing Lilian Brassier to tap it in and cut the deficit to one.

Despite PSG’s dominance, Liverpool secured a crucial 1-0 win with a late goal from Harvey Elliott, putting them in a strong position to reach the quarterfinals. However, PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia remains confident about turning things around at Anfield.

“We had so many opportunities to score in the first game and were the better team,” Kvaratskhelia said (h/t Liverpool.com). “It was disappointing to lose but we have to prepare ourselves properly for the second game.

“Liverpool are a good team and Anfield is a good ground for them. But we can take a lot of confidence from the way we played and if we are the same in the second game then I think we will score the goals we need.”
