Vincent Kompany says Bayern Munich’s clash with Chelsea will be a “special game” for Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson has joined Bayern on loan for the season from Chelsea, with the German side also holding an option to buy the striker.
He could line up against his parent club on Wednesday, however, though Kompany would not confirm whether he would play or not.
“It’ll certainly be a special game for him, there’s no doubt about that,” the Bayern boss said.
“My wish is that he scores a lot of goals for us. I think he’ll achieve that. But he doesn’t have the pressure from me. Our team is a good team, a good group. He has to be a part of it and he can help us a lot.”
Fellow Bayern striker Harry Kane also says he has been excited by what he has seen from the new arrival.
“Yeah, he’s been great so far, I think,” Kane said.
“It was good for him to get 45 minutes on the weekend [against Hamburg]. I thought he looked sharp, I thought he had a couple of half chances there. In training, he’s looked really good.
“It’s not easy coming into a team like us when we’re so well-drilled, I guess, over the last kind of year and a bit with the coach and the way we press and the way we like to play and the connections. You know, he’s still learning that aspect of it, but as I said after the game, he shows a lot of qualities.
“He physically is very strong and fast.”
