Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé on Saturday secured for himself a place in the history books of Spanish football.

This comes owing to the Frenchman’s latest haul in front of goal.

Real Madrid were of course back in action earlier today, welcoming Real Sociedad to Spain’s capital as part of the season’s final round of La Liga fixtures.

The aforementioned Mbappé for his part featured from the off in the clash, from his customary berth at centre-forward.

And en route to an eventual 2-0 Blancos triumph, the 26-year-old proved himself the star of the show.

After opening the scoring late in the first-half from the penalty spot, Mbappé made it a brace late on, courtesy of a fine left-footed strike.

And as alluded to above, in the process, the former Paris Saint-Germain standout etched his name into the record books.

As per statisticians Opta:

‘Kylian Mbappé has scored 30 goals in 34 games in LaLiga 2024/25, becoming the fourth player to reach this figure in his first season in the history of the competition, after Pruden in 1940/41 (33), Romário in 1993/94 (30) and Ronaldo Nazário in 1996/97 (34).’

Mbappé finished the La Liga term with 31 goals to his name.
