Earlier this week, reports emerged claiming that Real Madrid had shown an interest in signing Valencia teenager Yulian Mosquera.

A centre-back by trade, the 15-year-old prodigy happens to be the younger brother of Arsenal defender Cristhian Mosquera and is currently a part of the Valencia U-16 side.

Real Madrid, who are recruiting heavily to strengthen their youth ranks, have added his name to their wishlist after already signing talents like Victor Correa and Manu Navarro, among several others.

Valencia confident of keeping Yulian Mosquera

However, according to AS, Valencia remain confident that Mosquera will continue progressing through the ranks at their academy even though Real Madrid are monitoring him closely.

Standing at 1.94m tall already despite his young age, the 15-year-old starlet’s speed is another key attribute and his style has been likened to that of his elder brother.

Real Madrid are not the only club looking to sign him as several other top teams across Europe have taken note of his potential.

However, discussions between Valencia and the player have been positive so far. These talks are centred on a contract that would see Mosquera continue his development with Los Che.

While the process has not yet been finalised, the intention is for the renewal to be successfully completed, allowing him to follow in his brother’s footsteps to the first team.

This has always been the 15-year-old’s dream as he revealed in an interview with AS back in 2024:

“I look up to him. He’s always by my side and helps me with everything. He gives me advice every day, and I’m very happy. We’ve always talked about being like the Williams brothers and reaching professional football together. It would be a dream come true.”

Meanwhile, the Mosquera family maintains a strong relationship with Valencia. Cristhian’s development and eventual move to Arsenal did not create any tension that could affect his younger brother.

Although aware of the interest from other clubs, Yulian and his family are satisfied and grateful to Valencia.

Real Madrid, for their part, do not want to create conflict between themselves and Valencia, but are keeping a close eye on the situation.
