In a recent report, Sport claimed that Levante forward Karl Etta Eyong prefers a move to Barcelona. It is believed that the Catalan club would face competition from Real Madrid in pursuit of the Cameroonian striker next year.
Eyong has made a great start to this La Liga campaign as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 22-year-old has banged in six goals and grabbed three assists in 11 matches for Levante this season across all competitions.
The Cameroonian talent has led the line well for the Spanish club and has done well to average 2.84 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 50% of his attempts on target. However, Eyong needs to find a way to improve his ball distribution up top, based on his pass success rate of 70.5% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, Barcelona would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Eyong next year.

Eyong is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the vision to engineer some clear-cut chances for his teammates in the final third. He can strike the ball with venom from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top.
The Cameroonian talent has already begun to prove his worth in La Liga. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form at a top club like Barcelona.
We can expect Eyong to bring more firepower to Barca boss Hansi Flick’s midfield. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Nou Camp in the coming years.
At 22, Eyong has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Therefore, it is only logical for the Catalan club to go all out to get a deal done for him this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Flick has to be patient with his progress before he can get the best out of the gifted youngster.
