Xabi Alonso has remained very clear from day one that he counts on every player in the squad given the long and hectic schedule ahead this season.

Needless to say, this includes not only the player. He has given opportunities to date but even stars who have been injured and thus unable to feature in the new manager’s plans so far.

The likes of Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, and Endrick fall in the aforementioned category and are all expected to see minutes once they return to fitness. Defensa Central, however, brings to light that the Brazilian’s situation may be slightly different.

An unclear future

While Camavinga and Mendy will stay in the Spanish capital to aid Alonso’s project this season, Endrick’s future is not as clear and will be decided by the prominence he sees in the coming weeks.

The Brazilian No. 9 already has as many as five options on his table to leave on loan and further his development in the second half of the season. Real Madrid, however, are unclear if it is the right decision to ship him out.

One of the offers on his table is from Celta Vigo, Real Madrid’s La Liga rivals, who would be delighted to hand Endrick regular playing time and an opportunity to hone his skills.

The Galician side are willing to sign him on loan in January and will pay half of his wages as part of the agreement. A decision, however, will only be taken based on Alonso’s utilisation of Endrick in the coming months.

If Endrick does not feature much, Real Madrid will open the door to an exit and Celta Vigo may well be the player’s next destination, albeit on loan. If he plays often, he will clearly stay in the manager’s plans.

As it stands, the youngster is expected to return from injury in the coming weeks although there is no particular date set. Needless to say, a lot will depend on how he makes the most of his opportunities that will arrive.
