FC Barcelona emerged victorious against Villarreal at the Spotify Camp Nou in dominant fashion. The Catalan giants, despite facing one of the best teams in the league, were completely in control and decimated their opponents.

With a hattrick from Lamine Yamal and a late goal from Robert Lewandowski, La Blaugrana won the game 4–1. Thanks to this victory, they temporarily extended their lead at the top of the table to four points, with Real Madrid still to play this matchday.

Here are the player ratings for the Barcelona players.

Starting XI:

Joan Garcia: 7.5/10

Not heavily tested, but alert and composed whenever called upon. He read the game well and dealt confidently with the few situations that required intervention.

Jules Kounde: 7.5/10

Did well for much of the game to help out Lamine Yamal and provide assistance on the flank, and ended up providing an assist to Robert Lewandowski as well. However, he also missed a very easy chance early on in the game.

Pau Cubarsi: 7.0/10

Almost flawless with his passes, and his reading was solid as well. Hardly tested by the opposition during this game, but did well whenever he needed to make a move.

Eric Garcia: 8.0/10

A literal wall in defense for Barcelona in this game, and he never let Villarreal have an easy chance at goal. Made a crucial interception as well that would have likely resulted in Villarreal getting through on goal.

Alejandro Balde: 7.0/10

Lacked a bit of creativity at times, but did well to offer himself up as an option on the left flank. His distribution was solid as well, and he was consistently available during this game.

Marc Bernal: 7.0/10

Strong in midfield and did well to win the ball back in certain situations before distributing it back to his teammates. Solid outing from the young midfielder.

Dani Olmo: 6.5/10

Decent with his distribution and did well in certain scenarios. However, he slowed down a few counter attacks and struggled to win his duels in midfield at times.

Lamine Yamal: 10/10

Simply out of this world, and even managed to put that display into numbers with a hattrick which just so happens to be the first of his career. Beyond just the three incredible goals he scored, his dribbling was surreal enough to have the opposition struggling to find an answer to it.

Fermin Lopez: 8.5/10

Assisted both of Yamal’s first two goals, and his performance was superb. From his intensity to his selflessness, the young midfielder was doing everything he could to help his team.

Raphinha: 7.0/10

Created a few good chances, but this is not a performance that was perfect by any means. Received a yellow card simply for talking when he did not need to and suffered a bit against Villarreal in this game.

Ferran Torres: 6.0/10

Barely involved in the game and did not exactly do much to make Villarreal suffer. Not his best performance for the team.

Substitutes:

Pedri: 8.0/10

Made a big impact after coming on and showcased exactly why his presence was missed. Delivered a sublime assist to Lamine Yamal and was completely in charge of proceedings.

Ronald Araujo: 6.5/10

Solid cameo from the Uruguayan defender who looked really composed on the pitch.

Robert Lewandowski: 7.0/10

Scored a late goal for the team after coming on.

Marcus Rashford: 6.5/10

Looked sharp and had a couple of good moments where he made Villarreal panic.

Not enough time or influence on the game to warrant a rating.
