Regis Le Bris says he does not expect Bertrand Traore to return from injury for around another three weeks.

The winger has not played for Sunderland since December, having travelled to the Africa Cup of Nations where he suffered a knee injury.

“He’s in the same dynamic, similar to Granit (Xhaka),” the Sunderland boss said.

“Almost three weeks, something like that. It’s always symptom driven, but they are both in a good place so hopefully we’ll have good news in a few weeks.”

But Le Bris is confident that January signing Nilson Angulo is ready to start games for the club, having made his debut off the bench in the defeat to Arsenal last time out.

“He’s ready, he’s ready to play,” Le Bris said.

“He has played a lot of football this year at a good level so he’s ready.”
