Leeds United lost Anton Stach to a first-half injury during Sunday’s FA Cup tie at West Ham.
Leeds were already in front, with Ao Tanaka finding the net via a deflection on 26 minutes. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Stach was then hurt late in the half after a strong challenge from Max Kilman. It came moments after his effort had been saved by Alphonse Areola.
He had been released by Noah Okafor on a swift counter-attack and, as Kilman stretched to block, his right ankle appeared to roll on impact. He received treatment before limping around the pitch.
He briefly tried to continue, but Brenden Aaronson was already preparing and replaced him moments later.
Stach had been a pre-match doubt after reporting a hip issue in training. The 27-year-old was on Germany duty over the past fortnight, coming off the bench once against Switzerland.
Leeds were also without Gabriel Gudmundsson and Daniel James from the matchday squad. James is expected to miss a couple of weeks with an adductor strain, while Gudmundsson was not risked because of a minor groin problem.
