Leeds United are among the clubs interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo on loan in January.

Mainoo has fallen out of favour since the arrival of Ruben Amorim as manager and is yet to start a Premier League game this season.

The 20-year-old has totalled just 137 minutes of league action across seven substitute appearances and is considering his options. Mainoo expressed interest in leaving on loan in the summer, but saw an exit blocked.

However, he will again push for a temporary move in January as he looks to reignite his fortunes and regain a place in the England squad. The midfielder has not been capped by England since September 2024 but has not given up hope of making the World Cup squad next summer.

TEAMtalk are reporting that Leeds are interested in a loan deal, though face competition from Italian champions Napoli. Daniel Farke is desperate to add quality to his ranks in the winter window as Leeds battle to avoid the drop in the Premier League. Despite the fierce rivalry between the sides, the proximity of the move could appeal to Manchester United.

However, United will only allow Mainoo to leave if a replacement is sourced. The club hold an interest in Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson, though a January move is unlikely. Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller and Atletico Madrid’s Conor Gallagher are also potentail options.
