Leeds United will look to continue their exciting run of form when they travel to face resurgent Chelsea on Tuesday.

The Whites arrive in a confident mood following an impressive victory at Elland Road over the weekend.

However, Leeds face a significant test against a Chelsea side enjoying a perfect Premier League record under new manager Liam Rosenior.

While the hosts are pushing for Champions League qualification, Leeds are focused on pulling further clear of the relegation battle, setting up a clash with plenty at stake.

Match preview

Leeds have shown clear signs of progress in recent weeks, winning three of their last five league matches.

Their latest outing saw them claim a commanding 3-1 home victory over Nottingham Forest.

Daniel Farke’s side raced into a three-goal lead through Jayden Bogle, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with the latter continuing his productive campaign.

Leeds currently sit 16th in the table and hold a six-point cushion above the relegation zone.

Another positive result against Chelsea would significantly strengthen their survival hopes as the season moves towards its final stretch.

Chelsea have rediscovered momentum under Rosenior, winning each of their four Premier League fixtures since his appointment.

They claimed an eye-catching 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, powered by Cole Palmer’s historic first-half hat-trick.

They are fifth in the standings and firmly in the race for a top-four finish.

However, Chelsea have struggled in midweek fixtures this season and will be wary of Leeds, who beat them 3-1 earlier in the campaign.

Match stats

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last seven home league games against Leeds, winning the previous six meetings at Stamford Bridge.

The Whites last recorded a victory at the ground in 1999.

Leeds are chasing a league double over Chelsea for the first time since their title-winning 1991/92 campaign.

Chelsea are winless in their three midweek Premier League fixtures this season.

Leeds have lost seven of their 12 league matches away from home this term, collecting just seven points on their travels.

Leeds team news

Farke is expected to keep faith with the side that impressed over the weekend. The German tactician has largely benefited from a near fully-fit squad heading into the clash.

Anton Stach remains Leeds’ main injury concern. The 27-year-old is struggling with a hip problem.

Dan James has returned to the matchday squad and is pushing for his first start since November after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Calvert-Lewin is set to spearhead the attack once again, supported by Okafor, who should retain his place in the team.

Described by Farke as a player with ‘special ability‘, Okafor could prove decisive at Stamford Bridge.

Leeds predicted XI (3-5-2)

Karl Darlow; Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, James Justin; Jayden Bogle, Brenden Aaronson, Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev, Gudmundsson; Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor.
