Leeds United’s January focus has shifted, with Daniel Farke weighing reinforcements after a six-match unbeaten run eased relegation fears.
Leeds sit 16th on 21 points, seven clear of West Ham in 17th after draws with Liverpool and wins over Chelsea and Crystal Palace. The Daily Mail reports Leeds could spend £20-25m, though loans with options remain preferred.
Targets span Premier League know-how and emerging talent. Harry Wilson, pursued in summer, has a Fulham deal to 2026 and a free in June is possible if he does not extend. A January move remains possible, though Fulham may be reluctant to sell to a rival.
Sevilla winger Ruben Vargas has been checked, with around £8.7m discussed. Interest has been revived in James McAtee, who joined Nottingham Forest for £30m but has struggled for minutes. Leeds explored Como playmaker Martin Baturina in December.
Midtjylland trio Aral Simsir, Mikel Gogorza and Dario Osorio have been scouted, Simsir has seven goals and 15 assists. Striker options include Troy Parrott, valued near £25m after 20 goals for AZ Alkmaar last season, and Lazio’s Valentin Castellanos at about £21.8m. Raheem Sterling is considered available, but wages could be an issue.
At the back, Union Berlin centre-back Danilho Doekhi is out of contract this summer, while Chelsea’s Axel Disasi is out of the first-team picture. Leeds admire Josh Mulligan, with a summer move preferable under PSR constraints as Celtic show interest. Liverpool academy prospect Kai Morrall, 15, is set to join for a small compensation fee.
