Leeds United player ratings as Tarik Muharemovic shines amid Lukas Nmecha winner over Sunderland | OneFootball

Leeds United recorded a professional, largely controlled 1-0 friendly win over Sunderland in New Jersey, decided by a ninth-minute strike from Lukas Nmecha, with debutant Tarik Muharemovic the standout.

According to Leeds Live, Nmecha spotted goalkeeper Melker Ellborg off his line and a skidding effort beat the glove, whether intended or not. Sunderland went close a few times, while Leeds’ brightest moments after the break came through substitute Daniel James. The outlet added that Daniel Farke kept a back five throughout, which might hint at the season’s start, and raised concern about a plan B in attack without Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Left-sided defender Muharemovic read danger superbly, used the ball calmly and helped deliver a clean sheet, earning nine. Sebastiaan Bornauw was steady in the central role and took eight.

Alex Cairns completed the game with Lucas Perri injured, stayed composed under pressure and made a low save late on, taking seven. Jayden Bogle and captain Joe Rodon also received sevens, as did the industrious Ao Tanaka.

James was lively without the final touch and rated eight. James Justin and Ethan Ampadu impressed after the interval, both on seven.
