Leeds United are set to return to Dublin this summer, with a pre-season friendly against Manchester United being lined up.

According to The Irish Independent, the rivals will meet on Wednesday, 12 August at the 82,300-capacity Croke Park. The venue has not staged a football match since 2009 and is primarily home to Gaelic games.

Leeds drew 1-1 with AC Milan at the Aviva Stadium last year, an occasion that attracted major travelling support. With both clubs boasting sizeable Irish followings, the crowd could be more evenly shared this time.

A Dublin date would follow Leeds’ pre-season tour of the USA, due in late July and early August, with East Coast fixtures planned against Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool. All three could be Premier League opponents next season, with Wrexham chasing a Championship play-off place.

Leeds face Wrexham at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Saturday July 25, then Sunderland at Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey on Thursday July 30. They finish in Chicago against Liverpool on Sunday August two.

Tickets for all three US matches are on sale. Leeds have not announced the Dublin game, and ticket details would be provided alongside confirmation if and when it arrives.
