Leeds United ‘to target’ Oumar Solet and Konstantinos Mavropanos after Tarik Muharemovic deal | OneFootball

Leeds United have completed the signing of Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic, with confirmation expected in the coming days, and they appear to be pursuing another centre-back.

According to Leedsunited.news, Leeds want a second centre-back, with Oumar Solet and Konstantinos Mavropanos under consideration. Pascal Struijk has been sold to Brighton, and Muharemovic provides the left-footed profile they required.

Solet, at Udinese, is also of interest to Inter Milan, but Inter are not prepared to meet an asking price of about £22m. The report said Leeds are willing to pay the full fee this summer.

The report added that Leeds are keen on West Ham’s Mavropanos, with around £30m expected to secure him, while Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are monitoring his situation.

Muharemovic is seen as a straight replacement for Struijk, composed on the ball and, in many eyes, stronger in the air than the Dutchman. Even so, Daniel Farke appears to want an extra option to maintain a three-man defence. Mavropanos is proven in the Premier League.

Leeds now have four senior centre-backs with Muharemovic on board, but Max Wober is expected to depart this summer. Sebastiaan Bornauw is attracting interest from Koln, which would further reinforce the case for one more signing.
