Leeds strengthened their position with a composed win over Wolves at Elland Road, then watched relegation-threatened Spurs held 2-2 by Brighton after a late Georginio Rutter equaliser that left them eight points clear with five games remaining.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, it was a mature display, more substance than sparkle. The result secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season and another three points towards safety. Daniel Farke is getting the job done.

Noah Okafor, with five goals and three assists in his last seven games, was electric. In the first half he teed up James Justin for a spectacular opener, then finished coolly himself. It was clinical in a big game and a timely reminder to Switzerland before the World Cup.

Karl Darlow preserved the clean sheet with a phenomenal second-half stop at 2-0. Had it gone in, Elland Road would have turned nervy. He was worthy of it.

Referee Farai Hallam delivered one of the season's best Elland Road displays. His willingness to apologise when denying advantage showed humility, and he calmed matters after Brenden Aaronson reacted to a foul.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are going down with a whimper. Relegation will be a mathematical certainty before too long, and the anger at full-time was no surprise. How they have ended up here is a cautionary tale for Premier League owners.
