Jordan James appeared to suffer a hamstring problem and was withdrawn before half-time as Leicester City faced Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground.
The Wales international went down off the ball after 15 minutes and received treatment, with staff checking his right hamstring. LeicesterMercury.co.uk notes that City’s transfer priority is a new striker.
He continued in a scrappy half affected by wind and rain, and created little. The only clear opening saw Bobby De Cordova-Reid stopped at close range by Arthur Okonkwo.
James then lasted only another 25 minutes before going down again. He was replaced on 41 minutes by Ricardo Pereira with the game goalless, the skipper moved to right-back and Hamza Choudhury pushed into midfield.
A serious lay-off would be a major setback, as James has been Leicester’s standout and top scorer with nine.
City are short in midfield, with Aaron Ramsey out with a hamstring problem until late February and Harry Winks not considered for selection. An attacking midfielder is also on the agenda and, if James misses time, that role may become the must-do addition.
