Leicester City’s deadline-week business continues to simmer, with Boubakary Soumare still linked to Al-Duhail, Wout Faes already gone and Jake Evans moving to Northampton Town on loan. The club are also seeking a new manager amid injuries that have thinned the squad.

According to AS, City ‘made’ an offer for Valencia teenager Raúl Jiménez, 19, who is out of contract in the summer and can sign with an overseas club, with Modena also interested. The report adds the goalkeeper is set to sign an extension keeping him at Valencia until at least June 2028, with a €60 million release clause.

Former City defender Conor Coady, who made 43 appearances across two seasons and helped win promotion under Enzo Maresca in 2024, has left Wrexham. After only six outings, he has joined Championship rivals Charlton on loan for the rest of the campaign and could feature against City at the King Power on Saturday lunchtime.

Coady departed the King Power in the summer to sign a two-year deal with Wrexham as they chased back-to-back promotions, but his game time has been limited.

Elsewhere, former City coach and interim boss Michael Appleton has left League Two side Shrewsbury Town after 10 months in charge, having assisted Craig Shakespeare in 2017 before a brief caretaker spell. Gavin Cowan has been appointed after terms were agreed for him to leave Brackley Town, and former Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards will be one of his two assistants.
