Leicester are without Hamza Choudhury (shoulder), Paston Daka (ankle), Nathaniel Opoku (broken leg) and back-up goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk (ankle) for this game, but reportedly have no new injury concerns to contend with following their latest outing against Saints.

Veteran forward Jamie Vardy is once again expected to lead the line here, though at the age of 37 he could struggle to play all 90 minutes of a second match within just a week.

Elsewhere, manager Steve Cooper could return Ayew to his starting XI ahead of Stephy Mavididi, after he dropped the Ghana international to the bench for his side’s last outing.

The former Palace star came on to net the 98th-minute winner in that fixture, and looked to give his side plenty of energy when he took to the field, which will have impressed his boss.

As for Forest, they make the short trip south still without key midfielder Danilo (ankle), who remains sidelined after picking up a nasty injury just 15 minutes into their opening game of the Premier League season.

The visitors could also still be without his fellow midfield partner Ibrahim Sangare, who picked up a hamstring injury back in late August, though the Ivory Coast international is expected to take part in a late fitness test just prior to this match.

In better news for boss Nuno, Morgan Gibbs-White and James Ward-Prowse have served suspensions and are available for selection.

Leicester v Nottingham Forest preview:

Two of the biggest sides in the Midlands clash on matchday nine of the 2024/25 Premier League season, as Leicester City and Nottingham Forest face off at the King Power Stadium on Friday evening.

Despite falling two goals behind against fellow relegation candidates Southampton last time out, Leicester rallied to fight back and claim a huge 3-2 victory on the South coast.

The Foxes’ 98th-minute winner came courtesy of Ayew, with that strike making it successive league victories for the club after they defeated Bournemouth 1-0 a week earlier.

Now the hosts will look to win three Premier League matches in-a-row for the first time since January 2021. They could find the going tough here, though, as Forest arrive on Friday in fine form themselves.

After defeating Crystal Palace 1-0 on Monday night, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will be looking to claim back-to-back Premier League wins and to further extend their impressive start to this latest campaign.

Through their opening eight matches, Forest have lost just once, accumulating 13 points so far to begin this latest round of fixtures sat in eighth spot in the standings alongside European hopefuls Tottenham.

Much of that early-season success has come on the road, as the Tricky Trees remain unbeaten across their last six Premier League away outings overall – their longest undefeated run on the road in England’s top-flight since October 1995.

Next up, the visitors will try to beat rivals Leicester away from home and in the top-flight for the first time since March 1995, winning 4-2 at Filbert Street on that occasion.
