Losada restored the lead after the interval with a right-footed finish, then departed on 60 minutes, dazed. Romero sealed it late, winning the ball, combining with Pablo Martínez and beating Escandell, his first goal in 175 days.

Player ratings: Ryan six, adventurous with his feet, little he could do for Ylias’s strike and he guessed right on the spot-kick. Manu Sánchez six and Alan Matturro six were solid, while Dela five conceded the penalty after grappling with Fer Viñas. Jeremy Toljan six was erratic in his passing but delivered one fine cross for Espí.

In midfield, Olasagasti seven impressed on his return from suspension, clipped the bar and later tested Escandell, leaving to an ovation alongside Oriol Rey seven, who brought control. Kareem Tunde eight pressed relentlessly, drew olés and teed up Losada with an exquisite touch. Víctor García seven was lively, though beaten by Javi López in the build-up to Oviedo’s first.

From the bench, Martínez six showed encouraging signs on his comeback. Paco Cortes seven threatened from the left with a fine cross and a rasping effort. Romero eight made maximum impact, while Tay Abed, Kervin Arriaga and Raghouber were not rated.
