FC Barcelona added another La Liga title to their cabinet last night, and have now taken their league trophy tally to 29. Furthermore, with their win over Real Madrid last night, the Catalans have become the first team to successfully defend its league title in Spain in quite some time.

One message that Barcelona fans would value in particular was from their former player and captain Lionel Messi, who shared an image of Hansi Flick’s team with the caption: “Campeones! ‘Visca el Barça’”.

Meanwhile, a brief congratulatory message also arrived from bitter rivals Real Madrid. The Madrid side, who had also expressed condolences following the death of Hansi Flick’s father, posted on X: “Congratulations to Barcelona on winning La Liga 2025/26.”

On the political front, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez also congratulated Barcelona on their latest league triumph. He praised the work done by the players and coaching staff throughout the campaign while also congratulating the supporters.
