With Milan Skriniar now at Fenerbahçe SK, Paris Saint-Germain could be in the market for a new center-back, whether it be in January or in the summer.
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté is reportedly on PSG’s radar, considering the player’s contract expires in 2026. Moreover, the center-back fits what the Ligue 1 side are doing with their transfer philosophy of landing French talent.
If the center-back doesn’t agree to an extension, he’ll be a free agent at 27, right in the middle of his prime. Should Konaté enter the final year of his contract or become a free agent, expect PSG to make a move to bring him back home, which one report says they intend to do.

Anfield Watch reports that PSG are fully committed to signing Konaté. With the defender’s future already uncertain, this move adds even more pressure to the situation.
PSG are eyeing a move for Ibrahima Konaté this summer, hoping to bring him back to Paris, his hometown. The defender, who started his career at Paris FC before joining RB Leipzig, is a target for the French club.
No move is expected in January, but PSG plan to make their push in the summer, knowing Liverpool may have little option but to listen to offers at that point. With Konaté able to agree to a pre-contract with non-English clubs next year, Liverpool will likely see the summer as their last chance to secure a significant transfer fee.
This is the situation PSG hope to take advantage of, with Liverpool under pressure to sell unless they can finalize a new contract with Konaté beforehand.
As for how much the player could cost, Transfermarkt puts the Frenchman’s value at €50 million.
