In a recent report, Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is on the radar of Inter Milan this summer. It has been stated that the Milan outfit are preparing to launch a move to sign the English talent from the Reds this off-season.

Jones’ Important Role At Liverpool Last Season

Jones served as an important squad player for the Merseyside club in the previous campaign when he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The English midfield ace registered three goals and earned three assists in 49 matches for Liverpool last season in all competitions.

The 25-year-old is currently one of the most talented midfielders in Premier League football. Hence, the Reds should consider retaining his services for the long run.

However, Jones’ current contract at Anfield will run out at the end of next season. Thus, Liverpool would have no choice but to cash in on him this summer or else risk losing him on a free transfer next year.

Should Liverpool Boss Andoni Iraola Cash In On Jones?

Jones works hard for his team defensively and can shoot the ball with venom from long range. He has got the vision to create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball.

The English sensation can even contribute by scoring and creating a few important goals for his side. Jones is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as a defensive midfielder or in the number ten position if required. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and remains a useful asset in Liverpool’s squad.

Therefore, Iraola should focus on tying Jones down to a new contract if he intends to keep hold of him for the long run. He is still good enough to help the Reds compete across all fronts in the coming years.

At 25, Jones has his best years ahead of him. His market value will also go up in the future. Still, the Reds cannot afford to lose him on a free transfer next summer. With all things considered, Iraola should cash in on Jones if he receives a favourable offer for his services in this transfer window.
