PSG Move for Maghnes Akliouche Could Open Door for Liverpool to Chase Bradley Barcola

Paris Saint-Germain appear to be closing in on Maghnes Akliouche, and that development could have a major impact on Liverpool’s own transfer plans before the window shuts.

Akliouche has been at the centre of a lengthy summer pursuit, with Monaco standing firm through several rounds of talks. PSG have seen multiple offers rebuffed, including an approach worth around £34 million, or €40 million, before an improved €45 million bid was also rejected. After weeks of resistance, the French champions now look far closer to getting their man.

The key update arrived when Fabrizio Romano stated: “Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco reach breakthrough in talks for Maghnes Akliouche! Agreement now at final stages between clubs. Details to be sorted and then here we go expected next.”

Akliouche transfer shifts Liverpool picture

Liverpool had explored the situation earlier in the window and made contact with Monaco to assess whether Akliouche could be available. There had even been suggestions that Anfield decision-makers were willing to push harder financially if a genuine opening emerged.

That interest made sense. Andoni Iraola is still shaping his squad and has already made clear that Liverpool “needs to sign” a winger. With that in mind, Akliouche looked a logical option, a young attacking player with technical quality and room to develop further.

Now, though, PSG’s progress may prove more useful to Liverpool in a different way.

Bradley Barcola emerges as major Liverpool target

If Akliouche arrives in Paris, the spotlight immediately swings to Bradley Barcola. PSG’s forward line would become even more crowded, and that could create the opportunity Liverpool have been waiting for.

An official move for Barcola is believed to be in preparation according to DaveOCKOP, with a package of €110 million, £94 million, upfront being lined up. On top of that, there are performance-based add-ons of €20 million for domestic success and another €20 million tied to Champions League achievements, taking the full potential fee to €150 million.

That remains below PSG’s reported €170 million valuation, but transfer negotiations of this size often depend on timing, leverage and the player’s own stance as much as headline figures.

Barcola deal may depend on PSG timing

There is growing belief that Barcola’s camp have already held discussions with Iraola and senior Liverpool figures, which adds further intrigue to the situation. If PSG complete the Akliouche transfer, the market around Barcola may begin to move quickly.

For Liverpool, this could be one of those moments where one elite club’s incoming deal creates the opening for another major move. Akliouche to PSG may soon be more than a headline in France, it may be the trigger for Liverpool’s next big push.
