During the summer transfer window, Liverpool secured Hugo Ekitike in a deal worth up to £79 million with Eintracht Frankfurt, according to ESPN. The French forward recently reflected on his stint at PSG, saying the experience played a role in his growth.
Ekitike arrived at Frankfurt in February 2024 from PSG and went on to score 15 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances last season. PSG are set to pocket 20 percent of the transfer fee, around £13.8 million, from the move to Liverpool.
The switch to Anfield is already paying off, as Ekitike earned a call-up to the France national team and now looks to be in contention for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ekitike was speaking to the media and while reflecting on his PSG stint, the striker didn’t hold any resentment or hard feelings toward any of the players or coaches, especially since he’s taken the steps in his career that led to his Liverpool move.
“It’s not revenge (being at Liverpool), it’s football speaking,” Ekitike said (h/t Le10Sport). “I held on and believed in myself. There’s no hate about what happened with [Christophe] Galtier or everything that happened with PSG. It was a learning experience and I have no regrets. I truly grew as a player and as a person.”
