Alexander Isak has trained with Liverpool ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League fixture against Chelsea.
The Swedish striker missed last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at Manchester United, the latest absence in an injury-impacted debut campaign. Liverpool can secure Champions League qualification with a win at Anfield tomorrow lunchtime and the Reds have been boosted by Isak’s return.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Slot said Isak will be assessed today before a decision is made on his involvement.
Elsewhere, Alisson Becker and Mohamed Salah remain out, though both are nearing returns to first-team training. Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to take part in training today and could replace Freddie Woodman in goal.
“Alex [Iask] has trained with us again, only for the first time, yesterday. So that is a positive, yesterday he did pasts of it [training]. Hopefully he can do parts or all of it today. Then we will see how much we can use him tomorrow.
“Alisson not yet, hasn’t trained with us yet but very close. Mamardashvili will train with us today for the first time, so let’s see how he is going to react.
“Mo also hasn’t trained with us yet but is also getting very, very close to train with us.”
