The day is quickly approaching when Liverpool must bid farewell to Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian King is under contract until 2027 but is widely expected to depart in summer 2026 if an appropriate bid is received.

Saudi Arabian clubs such as Al-Qadsiah and Al-Hilal are reportedly ready with a bid for Salah - who would become the new face of the Saudi Pro League.

His departure would leave a huge gap in the Reds’ attack - with the 33-year-old being the team’s top scorer every season since he joined in 2017.

Salah’s output has diminished this season and he has also been involved in a high-profile row with club management over his role in the team.

Arne Slot has taken to rotating Salah out of the lineup - creating a rift between the head coach and his star player. It looks like relations have been patched up with Salah providing a goal and an assist across his last two matches.

LFC set their sights on Dembele

And if he does leave at the end of the season Fichajes claims that Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele is the man to replace him.

Currently at Paris Saint-Germain Dembele was in imperious form as the French Ligue 1 side claimed a treble last season.

But this campaign has been a tough one for the France World Cup winner - starting only three times in the Champions League and five more times in Ligue 1.

It’s believed club bosses and Dembele are engaged in a contract standoff - with the former Barcelona forward’s current deal expiring in 2028.

The 28-year-old is asking for a mammoth €60m per annum to renew and PSG are not currently minded to pay it. He currently earns around £453k per week at Parc des Princes - a salary Liverpool could afford in the event that Salah leaves.

And according to the report the ambidextrous attacker is open to the possibility of arriving at Anfield this summer.

Dembele would consider Premier League move

“The English club have set their sights on Ousmane Dembélé to fill the void left by the imminent and painful departure of their star player, Mohamed Salah,” the report reads.

“The current Ballon d'Or winner has stalled his contract renewal with PSG after failing to reach an agreement on an astronomical salary.

“His demand for €60 million annually has created an insurmountable rift with the club's management.”

Liverpool spent £450m on new players last summer - including British record deals for Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak. Despite those outlays the Premier League title-holders are suffering a hangover in this campaign.

Improvements need to be made in attack - where Cody Gakpo has been inconsistent and in light of the prospect of Salah’s departure.

“Formal negotiations are expected to begin once the official transfer windows open next summer,” the report reads.
