Eder Maestre (London City Lionesses)
London City Lionesses head coach Eder Maestre expressed his deepest sympathy for his Brighton and Hove Albion counterpart Dario Vidosic, who lost his father Rado this week.
In his press conference on Friday morning, Maestre looked ahead to the weekend’s game against Brighton, where Chris Roberts will remain in interim charge of the team.
And he said to SheKicks.net: “The situation around these days are very difficult days for human or family.
“That game is going to be connected to not only professional, it’s more personal. It will have an extra difficulty to face the the situation – here in the club, all the people [are] so sorry [for] his family.”
Rado Vidosic was head of women’s and girls’ coaching at Brighton, and had enjoyed great success in men’s and women’s football in Australia.
Dario Vidosic confirmed the passing of his father on Tuesday, calling him his “hero” on social media.
London City Lionesses travel to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.
Maestre is about to take charge of his fourth London City Lionesses match, with a win, a draw and a loss to his credit so far.
And he reflected: “I think the matches were difficult because Liverpool is a very nice team. We can see that will to win against Tottenham [last weekend] – I really think they are getting less than they deserve.
“I think we are moving forward in the performance of the team. Last game against Manchester City, I think I really think we deserve much more.
“And we need to consider that they are the top [of the] league, the top one team in the competition.
“So we need to be in that humble vision, be ambitious every day to get our best performance every day.”
