Hardly a vintage FC Barcelona performance, but one that was still enough to get them all three points over Elche. With this victory, the Catalan giants manage to stay in contention for the La Liga title and overtake Villarreal again in the league table.

A 3-1 win over Elche, it saw Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Marcus Rashford score for La Blaugrana. While the team dominated in certain aspects, this was still a performance that left a lot to be desired.

Player Ratings:

Wojciech Szczesny: 6.5

The Polish goalkeeper did not have to do much but intervened whenever it was necessary. He also could not have done much about the goal he conceded.

Jules Kounde: 7.0

The Frenchman did well in terms of his defensive duties barring a few minor errors. However, especially going forward, there were some instances where his decisions could have been better.

Ronald Araujo: 7.5

Could have done better for the goal that was scored by Elche, but was very solid apart from that. Strong in his duels and was also very reliable in terms of his passing this time around.

Eric Garcia: 7.0

Always knew when to make a run and progress the ball if passing options did not present themselves, Eric Garcia was solid as well. Not as commanding as Araujo, but still a good display.

Alejandro Balde: 7.5

Great game from Alejandro Balde, one in which he even managed to grab a brilliant assist. Looked a bit easy to get past defensively at times, but overall a solid display from the Barcelona left-back.

Marc Casado: 7.5

A big display from Marc Casado, who was almost faultless in terms of his passing and even maintained a high level of intensity throughout the game. This is exactly the kind of energy that Flick’s team needed.

Frenkie de Jong: 8.0

Top performance from the Dutch midfielder in the absence of Pedri. Did well to create opportunities for his teammates while simultaneously carrying out his defensive duties as well all game.

Lamine Yamal: 8.0

Much better from Lamine Yamal this game, and he seems to be truly determined to find his best version again. Scored a great goal and looked much more dynamic compared to his other performances recently.

Fermin Lopez: 8.5

Managed to get two assists in, and both were brilliantly provided. Apart from that, he was a bit easy to beat for his opponents at times, but great display overall from the Spaniard.

Marcus Rashford: 8.0

Did well all game to trouble the Elche defense, and ended up grabbing a great goal as well. Solid display from the English winger for Barcelona.

Ferran Torres: 7.5

Scored a goal courtesy of a great pass from Fermin Lopez, and maintained a good level of intensity apart from that as well. His decision-making, however, left more to be desired.

Substitutes:

Dani Olmo: 7.0

Looked great after coming on from the bench and did well to generate chances thanks to his accurate passes.

Gerard Martin: 6.0

Solid cameo from the Spanish left-back.

Robert Lewandowski: 6.0

Finally back from injury and he looked eager to threaten the Elche goal.
