Benfica’s pursuit of Lorenzo Lucca has grown more complex after long-time rivals Porto rejoined the chase for the Napoli striker.
According to Glorioso 1904, Porto have revived their interest in the Italian, who has been used sparingly at Napoli while on loan from Udinese.
Porto are said to have opened talks with Napoli and the No 27 fits José Mourinho’s preferred profile, adding pressure on Benfica.
The deal has been difficult from the outset. Napoli want a figure close to his market value and Lucca has told the club that, if he leaves, he would prefer to stay in Italy.
This season he has made 20 appearances for Napoli, 14 in Serie A, four in the Champions League, one in the Supercoppa and one in the Coppa Italia. Across 570 minutes he has scored two goals. He is valued at 25 million euros and is under contract until June 2028.
