Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo, asked on Tuesday whether the Rome derby would be played next Monday rather than Sunday, said, "I don't think so."
According to Football Italia, the Round 37 schedule and kick-off times have triggered a dispute between Lega Serie A and the Rome Prefecture.
Public authorities in Rome have ordered the fixture to move from Sunday 17 May to Monday 18 May for security reasons. The Italian Open tennis final is also on Sunday, drawing over 20,000 fans to the Foro Italico beside the Stadio Olimpico.
Lega Serie A is preparing an urgent appeal to the Regional Administrative Court, TAR, which has the power to overturn the ruling.
Because teams chasing the same objective must play the final two rounds simultaneously, a lost appeal would likely push four more Serie A games from Sunday to Monday: Juventus-Fiorentina, Genoa-Milan, Pisa-Napoli and Como-Parma.
