Despite the frustration over losing the FIFA Club World Cup final to Chelsea, PSG remain one of Europe’s dominant forces, as they aim to defend their UCL crown in 2026.

PSG kicked off their defence with a 4-0 home win over Atalanta before a 1-0 El Classique defeat to Ligue 1 rivals Marseille.

With so much focus on Ousmane Dembele’s Ballon d’Or win, Luis Enrique was keen to get back down to business, ahead of a key run of matches.

The Parisians powered past Barcelona that time, as an emotional Luis Enrique knocked out his old team, before losing to Borussia Dortmund in the last four.

Barcelona’s last Champions League title success came under Luis Enrique back in 2015 and the Asturian is way of Hansi Flick on the back of PSG’s struggles at Marseille.

“If we miss the same number of easy passes and chance that we did against Marseille in Barcelona, we’ll be dead,” as per Diario Sport.

“Players aren’t machines, they’re human; you have to accept that. As a coach, I shouldn’t get angry, I have to accept that players make mistakes. We have improve on that against Auxerre and against Barca.”

Dembele will miss out on a quickfire reunion with Ballon d’Or rival Lamine Yamal, as he remains sidelined with a hamstring issue, alongside fellow absente Desire Doue.

A late call will be made on Joao Neves and Bradley Barcola as PSG look to ease their injury concerns ahead of that crunch trip to Catalonia.
