Luis Suárez suspended despite Inter Miami appeal

Luis Suárez will be suspended for Inter Miami's upcoming play-off game against Nashville SC despite the club's appeal.

Inter Miami are set to face Nashville in the third game of the best-of-three round one play-off game. Javier Mascherano's side won the first game 3-1 before losing 2-1 in the second fixture to set up a final match.

The incident that led to Suárez's suspension in Inter Miami's second game defeat when the Uruguayan was caught kicking out at Andy Najar off the ball.

There was no on-field decision for the kick which meant that the MLS itself stepped in to punish the player due it being an incident worthy of a red card that was missed. The governing body has now decided to suspend Suárez despite an appeal from Inter Miami.

The 38-year-old will be a miss for Inter Miami, having scored 17 goals and assisted 18 across 48 games in all competitions during the 2025 season.
