AS Monaco is pleased to announce the arrival of Lukas Hradecký from Bayer Leverkusen. The Finnish international goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with the Rouge et Blanc, through June 30, 2027, with an optional one-year contract.

Lukas Hradecký arrives in the Principality with a wealth of experience with Bayer Leverkusen. The reigning German runner-up and winner of the 2024 German Super Cup, he is also one of the architects of Bayer’s historic 2023-2024 season where they recorded a Cup and League double without losing a single match in the Bundesliga.

Best goalkeeper in the 2023-2024 Bundesliga

Captain since 2021 of the “Werkself” where he is nicknamed “the spider”, he was named the league’s best goalkeeper in 2024 and player of the season for his club four times: 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2023. During his years in Germany – where he holds the record for the number of appearances (323) and the number of “clean sheets” (92) for a foreign goalkeeper -, Lukas also acquired solid experience on the European scene with no less than 55 matches to his name in the Champions League and the Europa League.

Captain of the Finnish national team

His international experience has also been cultivated with the Finnish national team where he is also a leader. The international goalkeeper (101 caps) has been playin in his country’s colors since 2010 and has worn the captain’s armband of the “Grand Duke Owls” since 2021.

Born in Bratislava (Slovakia), Lukas Hradecký started out at TPS Turku, in Finland, the country where he grew up. He then made his professional debut at Esbjerg (Denmark) in 2009, before joining Brøndby in 2013 and playing goal for two seasons.

A decade in Germany

In 2015, he moved to Germany, joining Eintracht Frankfurt, where he won the German Cup (2018), before joining Bayer Leverkusen. After Germany, Lukas Hradecký will open a new chapter in his career by discovering the French top flight in the jersey of AS Monaco.
