RB Leipzig will be without Castello Lukeba on Tuesday, so El Chadaille Bitshiabu is poised for a second straight start against FC St. Pauli.
According to BuLi News, the rescheduled Bundesliga game comes too soon after Lukeba missed Saturday’s 3-0 win over Heidenheim with a knee capsule irritation.
RB Leipzig coach Ole Werner said on Monday that Lukeba’s training load has increased but he is not ready to play tomorrow.
Bitshiabu partnered Willi Orban in central defence at the weekend and is in line to start again, with Werner noting he has waited for his chance and options are short on match fitness.
Whether Lukeba can return for Saturday’s Bundesliga meeting with Mainz is unclear, with Werner saying he is generally optimistic but they must go day by day.
