Olympique Lyonnais forward Malick Fofana, 20, is set to be sidelined for at least two weeks, according to L’Équipe.

He is due to undergo a minor surgical procedure as part of his rehabilitation from a serious right ankle injury sustained in late October. He is expected to miss SCO Angers next weekend and FC Lorient on 12th April.

His availability for the Ligue 1 clash with Paris Saint-Germain on 19th April remains uncertain. So does his participation in the 2026 World Cup.

This is another setback for OL, who remain in the chase for a Champions League spot and hope to have him back before the end of the season. He has played a few minutes in recent weeks against Celta Vigo and Monaco.

Before his injury, Paulo Fonseca used him on 12 occasions, 11 of them starts, in all competitions. Fofana has scored two goals and supplied one assist.
